About AskGVT & Creator Studio
What is AskGVT?
AskGVT is the answer engine for video. When someone asks a question, AskGVT returns the actual moment from a real creator's video that answers it. Not a synthesized summary, not a list of links, but a playable clip with attribution to the creator who said it. Other AI reads the script. AskGVT watches the film.
What is Creator Studio?
Creator Studio is the creator-facing side of AskGVT. It's where creators bring their content into the platform, see what it actually contains, search their entire archive in plain English, build Collections of clips, assemble decks, get their own public Ask page, and earn from the Creator Fund. Studio is free. It's the way creators get into the index that powers AskGVT's consumer search product.
Who is Creator Studio for?
Anyone publishing video. It's especially powerful for creators with a deep back catalog (years of content sitting unsearchable on their channels) and for creators in categories where lived experience is the value: travel, beauty, fitness, parenting, sport, education, product reviews, food, DIY, local recommendations. You can bring content onto Studio either by uploading it directly or by connecting your existing video channels.
Is Creator Studio really free?
Yes. Free forever for founding creators. The founding cohort is the group of creators who join before AskGVT's consumer product launches (fewer than 10,000 in total) and their access to Studio stays free in perpetuity, no matter how the product evolves afterward. Most creator tools cost you money (editing software, analytics platforms, scheduling tools) and they take from you before you've earned a thing. Creator Studio works the other way: you don't pay to use it, and the Creator Fund is built so the platform pays you.
What does it mean to be a founding creator?
Founding creators are the cohort joining before the consumer product launches: fewer than 10,000 creators in total. Founding creators get Studio free forever (the only version of "free forever" that will exist), get the longest possible indexing runway before consumer launch, and become the seed answer set when consumers arrive on AskGVT. Indexing capacity is bounded, and the founding cohort is filling up. Joining now is the only path to that permanent free access.
How does AskGVT make money if Studio is free?
We monetize the consumer side and the agency / brand side, not creators. Consumers pay for AskGVT search. Brands and agencies pay for tools that find creators by genuine demonstrated expertise rather than follower count. Both revenue lines depend on creators being in the index, which is why the Creator Fund pays creators instead of charging them.
What's GVT Labs and how is it different from Studio?
GVT Labs is our enterprise API product, designed for engineering teams and large companies who want to pull in their own data and build on top of AskGVT's intelligence layer. It's paid by usage. As a creator, you don't use Labs, you use Studio. The two products share the same underlying technology but serve completely different audiences.
How it works
How does AskGVT actually understand my videos?
AskGVT processes video across five layers simultaneously:
- Frame intelligence. Every object, product, logo, person, piece of text in every frame, detected at 99.7% accuracy.
- Motion and temporal. What happens between frames. Sequences, pacing, picking up vs. putting down. The 45-second action, not the still.
- Narrative. Scene breaks, story arcs, cause and effect. The structure of what you're showing.
- Linguistic translation. Every visual element gets translated into language the AI can reason over. That's what lets you ask questions in plain English and get answers in pixels.
- Master index. All of the above, across every creator and every video, sits in a single vector store: over 70 million vectors, with sub-millisecond retrieval.
The combination is what makes the difference. Other AI reads the script of a video (the transcript, the title, the tags). AskGVT watches the whole thing.
How do I bring my content into Studio?
Two ways, both supported. The primary path is upload: you bring your videos onto Studio directly, and we index them. For convenience, you can also connect your existing video channels (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram. Reels, Shorts, and long-form) and Studio pulls your full back catalog from each one into a single unified library, so you don't have to re-upload anything. Most creators do a mix.
How long does it take to index my content?
Most creator content is indexed within hours. New uploads or new posts on connected channels are picked up on a near-real-time basis. Larger archives take longer for the initial pass. We'll show you progress in Studio.
What does "indexing" mean exactly?
Indexing is the process of converting your videos into a searchable, queryable knowledge layer. We watch every frame, understand what's said, shown, and demonstrated, and store that understanding in our master index. The original videos remain on the platforms where you posted them, or on your own storage if you uploaded directly; what AskGVT keeps is the extracted clips and the structured intelligence layer that makes them findable. You retain 100% of your rights to your content. Indexing simply makes what's already there findable.
Do you keep a copy of my full video?
Briefly. To process and index a video, we temporarily ingest a copy so we can extract clips and build the intelligence layer. Once processing is complete, the full video file is deleted. What we keep is the indexed clips and structured data. The originals live with you (on your own storage if you uploaded directly, or on the channels you connected). We don't host or stream your full videos to viewers.
Studio features
What can I do in Creator Studio from day one?
Four things.
Connect with your audience. Get your own public Ask page (Ask [Your Name]) hosted on AskGVT. Your audience asks questions; your archive answers. Share the permalink anywhere. (This is about connecting with the people who follow you, not connecting social channels: those come in when you bring your content onto Studio.)
Search. Ask your library questions in plain English. "Find every clip where I demoed [product]." "What topics did my top 10 videos have in common?" "Find my sourdough scoring technique I performed on a sunny evening wearing the denim apron." The more specific the query, the more powerful Studio gets. Not sure what to ask? Studio suggests starter questions based on what's in your library.
Produce. Save the moments that matter into Collections, your personal clip library. Export them straight to CapCut or your camera roll. Or take the next step up: assemble a deck from your archive, with clips structured into a brand pitch, talk, course, or research brief.
Pitch. Your Collections and decks become your media kit. When a brand asks what you've covered, the answer is the actual clips and decks, not follower numbers. Win brand deals on expertise, not reach.
What's the Ask page?
Every creator on Studio gets their own public page on AskGVT: Ask [Your Name]. Ask Adaeze. Ask Campbell. Ask Kenji. It's where your audience can ask real questions of your video content. They land on the page, see an "Ask me a question" box, and get answers drawn from the moments in your archive that address what they asked. The page is hosted on AskGVT and you share the permalink from your bio, your newsletter, your community, anywhere your audience already is. You can publish your public Collections to the page, suggest example questions for visitors to start with, and over time customize how it looks. The page is yours; the search engine is ours.
What are Collections?
Think of Collections as Pinterest for your own video clips. Find any moment in your archive, save it into a Collection, return to it whenever. Build themed Collections ("best skincare moments," "every time I cooked with miso," "all my recovery nutrition explanations") and they become reusable assets for production, pitches, and (when AskGVT's consumer product launches) public sharing on your Ask page.
Can I build decks from my content?
Yes. The deck builder is the next layer up from Collections. Select moments from your archive that address a specific topic, and Studio assembles them into a structured presentation: clips embedded inline, with timestamps, attribution, and a coherent narrative arc inferred from the underlying content. Use cases include brand pitches, conference talks, course outlines, research briefs, partnership proposals, and portfolio pieces. What used to take hours of manual clip-finding and slide-building takes minutes. Decks are yours to use commercially.
Can I export clips to other tools?
Yes. Direct export to CapCut and to your camera roll. The clip you found becomes the clip you edit with. No downloading, no file management, no intermediate steps.
Will Studio tell me things about my own content I don't already know?
Almost always. Most creators are surprised by what Studio surfaces. A creator who thinks they make fitness content discovers that the moments their audience consistently watches and replays are about recovery and mental resilience. That's not a label you wrote on a video; it's what your content actually demonstrates across thousands of analyzed moments. It can change what you make next, how you pitch to brands, and how you understand your own creative identity.
Earnings & the Creator Fund
How does the Creator Fund work?
30% of qualifying revenue from AskGVT flows into the Creator Fund every month. There's one fund, distributed via a points-based system: your share is your points divided by total points earned that month, multiplied by the fund's size. The dashboard inside Studio shows your points, your projected earnings, and your historical payouts in real time.
What are the ways to earn?
Two activities earn points today, both available from day one:
Network points. Earn points when creators you invite become active on the platform. This isn't a one-time referral; it's ongoing. The longer the creators you brought in keep using Studio, the more your points accrue. Building a strong network in your niche compounds over time.
Audience points. Earn points when you direct your viewers to AskGVT and they sign up. Free signups count; viewers don't need to convert to a paying subscriber for you to earn. This pool monetizes your existing reach directly. It's independent of whether your content is indexed. We provide briefing templates, messaging guidance, and tracking so you can do this well.
When AskGVT's consumer answer engine launches, a third earning dynamic comes into play. Indexed content participating in real consumer queries grows the overall revenue base, which means the fund gets bigger and everyone's share gets more valuable. This isn't a separately allocated pool. It's expansion of the same fund through earned revenue. Indexed creators participate disproportionately in that growth because their content is what makes the consumer product work.
How are points calculated and paid?
Each month, the fund is divided proportionally based on the points everyone has earned. Your share equals your points divided by total points earned across the platform, multiplied by the fund's size for the month.
Points have no monetary value individually; they represent a proportional claim on the fund. The dollar value of each point depends on how much qualifying revenue came in that month and how many points were earned across all participants.
When do I get paid?
Distribution is calculated monthly. Payments go out after a defined validation period (we may delay payments for fraud review or verification). Your dashboard shows what you've earned, what's pending validation, and what's already been paid out.
How long are my points valid?
Points are valid for 24 months from the date they're issued. If you earn points and don't claim payouts, they don't expire for two years, but after 24 months, unredeemed points expire.
What revenue counts toward the Creator Fund?
Qualifying Revenue includes:
- Consumer subscription revenue
- In-app purchases and upgrades
- Advertising tied to consumer usage of AskGVT
- Affiliate and commerce revenue generated through the platform
The following are not part of the Creator Fund pool:
- Enterprise or B2B contracts (e.g. GVT Labs)
- Agency or managed service revenue
- One-off commercial deals
- Grants, sponsorships, partnership payments
- Taxes, refunds, chargebacks
- Platform fees (e.g. app store commissions)
Is the Creator Fund guaranteed?
The Creator Fund is a discretionary incentive program. It can be modified or ended. Participation does not guarantee any minimum payout. It is not equity, not profit-share, not a partnership, and not a security. We commit to transparency on what you've earned, the breakdown by category, and historical payouts, and to a fair distribution method based on the formula above.
Do I get paid for inviting creators? Is this a referral scheme?
You earn points when creators you invite become active on the platform. Active here means accepted into the platform during onboarding: there's a manual acceptance step that protects against fake-account farming, so points only accrue once an invited creator has been verified as legitimate. You're not paid for the act of inviting alone. There's no participation fee, and no obligation to recruit anyone. The Network points reward genuine contribution to the supply side of the platform, not list-building.
What happens when AskGVT's consumer product launches?
Three things change for creators with indexed content. First, every time a consumer's question is answered by your indexed video, that activity grows the Creator Fund, which grows your share. Second, your Collections become publicly shareable on your Ask page as a curated view of your expertise. Third, AskGVT becomes a discovery channel: viewers who find you through an answer they trusted often follow back to your channel, where engagement tends to be higher than algorithmic feed traffic.
Will every creator's content be indexed in the consumer answer engine?
Not necessarily. Indexing is capacity-bounded, especially during the pre-launch period as the founding cohort fills up. Every creator on Studio can earn from Network points and Audience points regardless of indexing status. Indexed creators have an additional way for their content to contribute to fund growth at consumer launch, but indexing is not the prerequisite for participating in the Creator Fund. Joining the founding cohort during the pre-launch window is the strongest path to being indexed at launch.
How can a creator with no consumer launch yet earn anything?
Today, Network and Audience points pay from day one regardless of whether your content is indexed. You can earn from inviting creators in your niche and from driving your existing audience to AskGVT. The third earning dynamic (content answering consumer queries) layers on top when consumer search launches.
What about tax? Do you handle that for me?
No, and that's by design. What you owe in tax on Creator Fund earnings depends on where you live, how you're set up (individual, sole trader, company, partnership, etc.), and the rules that apply to you locally. AskGVT pays you the amount you've earned under the fund's distribution formula. We don't withhold, classify, or advise on the payment. Tax forms, business registrations, and how Creator Fund income gets reported on your end are your responsibility, and we'd encourage you to talk to an accountant in your jurisdiction if you're not sure what applies. We'll provide whatever standard payment record we're required to (and creators can always pull their full earnings history from the Studio dashboard), but the classification is your call.
If my agency takes a cut of my earnings, does AskGVT deduct that?
No. AskGVT pays Creator Fund earnings directly to the creator account, in full, every cycle. If your agency, manager, or other representative is entitled to a share of what you earn, that's a separate arrangement between you and them, governed by whatever contract you have with them. We're not a party to it. We don't deduct, split, or route Creator Fund payments to any third party, and we don't reduce a creator's earnings because they're represented. What you do with what you earn (whether that's paying an agency commission, paying yourself, or anything else) is between you and the people you've chosen to work with.
Your content, your rights
Who owns my content?
You do. Always. Bringing your content onto Studio (whether you uploaded it directly or connected an existing channel) doesn't transfer any ownership. We index your content to make it searchable; we don't acquire rights to it. You retain 100% of your rights: to use, license, repurpose, monetize elsewhere, or remove. This is a non-negotiable principle: your content is yours.
Who owns what I generate in Studio?
You do. Anything you create using Studio (Collections, decks, exported clips, analyses, your Ask page) is yours to use, share, license, or sell, without restriction. We retain rights only to the engine itself, not to what you make with it. We don't claim copyright in derived outputs. If you send a deck to a brand and they keep it, that's between you and them. If you sell a clip compilation, the revenue is yours. AskGVT doesn't take a cut.
Will you train generative AI on my videos?
Your content stays yours. It's processed and indexed for one purpose: to be findable. In Studio, that means you searching your own archive. On your Ask page, that means your audience finding the moments your work answers their questions. In the AskGVT consumer search product, when it launches, that means viewers finding the exact moment your work answers a question they asked. That's the entire scope of what your content is used for. We don't train, fine-tune, or feed your content into any generative AI system, and we don't sell it to anyone who does. The only model fine-tuning we may do is on retrieval models, which only get better at finding your work; they can't generate new content from it. If that ever changes, you'll be asked, not told.
Will my content show up in answers I don't endorse?
The same model as Google. You can't preselect which questions consumers ask, and you can't choose which of your videos surface for which queries. What you can rely on: every answer attributes you by name and channel, every clip links back to the original video, and your content is always shown in your own creator context. If a specific clip is being misused, you can request its removal from the index. The trade-off is the one every search engine has asked you to make for twenty years: less control over which queries you appear in, much more discovery across queries you never thought to optimize for.
Is my content shared with other creators?
No. Other creators cannot search your library. Your library is private to you. The master index that powers consumer search returns moments from across many creators' libraries when consumers ask questions, but no creator can browse another creator's archive.
What about agencies. Can they search my content?
Only if you give them access. Roster is our agency-facing product, and agencies use it to manage creators they represent. If you're with an agency that uses Roster, you have to actively accept the agency's invitation to join their roster; they can't pull you in unilaterally. When you do accept, you choose between two access models:
Full control. The agency can log in to your Studio as you. They can manage your account, run searches, build Collections and decks, on your behalf. Useful when you actively delegate operational work.
View-only. The agency can see your videos and Studio data, and can query your content, but cannot make any changes. Useful when you want them to have visibility for pitching and discovery without handing over the keys.
You can switch between models at any time, and you can revoke the agency's access at any time. Agencies do not earn from your Creator Fund payouts or take a cut of your earnings. Your share of the fund is yours.
What happens to my content if I leave?
Your content is removed from our index within 90 days of you leaving the platform. Anything you generated using Studio (Collections, exports, decks, analyses) is yours to keep. We don't claim copyright in derivatives, and we don't reserve any rights to operate on your content after you've left, except where we're legally required to retain logs.
Will my content be sold?
No. We do not sell creator content or creator data. The platform monetizes consumer subscriptions, ads, affiliate / commerce, and B2B / agency tools. None of which involve selling your content.
Brand deals & discovery
Will brands find me through AskGVT?
Yes, and the basis on which they find you is different from any other platform. Brands and agencies use AskGVT to search for creators based on what they've actually demonstrated, not what they claim in a media kit and not how big their following is. If you have genuine depth on a topic, AskGVT can surface you for briefs you'd never have been considered for.
Do I have to take brand deals AskGVT surfaces me for?
No. AskGVT is a discovery layer, not a deal broker. Brands and agencies who find you through the platform contact you directly, and you decide whether to engage. We don't take a cut of brand deals you sign as a result of being discovered through AskGVT.
Can I get brand deals if I'm a smaller creator?
Yes, and AskGVT is built to make this easier. The platform doesn't rank creators by follower count; it surfaces creators whose content actually demonstrates expertise in a given topic. A creator with 20,000 highly engaged followers and a deep library on a specific subject is findable on AskGVT in a way they aren't anywhere else. Followers got you here. Knowledge gets you there.
Account & setup
How do I sign up?
Through the AskGVT website. Create your Studio account, bring your content in (by uploading directly, or by connecting your existing channels), and indexing starts. Most creators are up and running in under ten minutes; the indexing of your back catalog continues in the background and you can use Studio while it completes.
Which channels can I connect?
The primary way to bring content onto Studio is to upload it directly. For convenience, you can also connect your existing video channels (YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram are supported today, including Reels, Shorts, and long-form) and Studio pulls your back catalog into a single unified library inside the platform. You can connect multiple accounts on each platform, mix uploads and connected channels however you like, or use only one.
Can I disconnect a channel later?
Yes. Disconnect any channel from your Studio settings at any time. Disconnecting starts the de-indexing process for that channel's content.
Can someone manage Studio on my behalf (a manager, agent, or agency)?
Yes, with your explicit permission. If you have an agency on Roster, you can accept their invitation to join their roster and choose between Full control (they can manage your account as you) and View-only (they can see and query your data but can't make changes). You control the access, can switch between models, and can revoke at any time. Individual managers or agents who aren't on Roster can be given delegated access through similar permissioning. The principle is the same: you decide who sees what, and you can change your mind.
When AskGVT's consumer product launches
What's the consumer product?
It's an answer engine for video. Consumers ask AskGVT questions ("what's the best running shoe for flat feet?", "how do I score sourdough so it opens up properly?", "what do esthetiologists actually say about retinol purging?") and get back the exact moments from real creators who answered them, with timestamps, attribution, and a playable clip.
How does the consumer launch change things for me?
Three things. First, your indexed content participating in real consumer queries grows the Creator Fund: indexed creators see their share scale with how much the consumer product is used. Second, your Collections become publicly shareable on your Ask page as a curated view of your expertise. Third, AskGVT becomes a discovery channel: viewers who find you through an answer they trusted often follow back to your channel, where engagement tends to be higher than algorithmic feed traffic.
Why should I bring my content in now and not wait?
Three reasons. First, AskGVT is building the search layer for the creator economy. When people look for trusted human answers in video, they'll search this index. Being part of it from the start means your content is the seed answer set consumers find at launch. Second, Network and Audience points pay from day one regardless of consumer launch: there's earning to be had today. Third, the founding cohort is capped at fewer than 10,000 creators, and indexing capacity is bounded. Joining now is the only path to permanent free access and the first-wave position. Move later and you start where everyone else does.
Trust, safety, and support
How is AskGVT different from generic AI answer engines?
Other AI engines synthesize answers from text. They don't know what creators actually said, showed, or demonstrated, and when they're wrong, you can't tell. AskGVT only ever returns answers backed by playable evidence: the actual moment from a real creator's video, with attribution and a link. Every answer comes with a receipt.
How do I get help?
The fastest channels are inside Studio (live chat for product issues) and email at ask@gvtlabs.com for everything else. If you're an early creator working with us directly, you'll have a direct line to a team member at AskGVT.
Where do I go for the legal stuff?
Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are linked in the footer of askgvt.com and inside Studio. The Creator Fund Structure document is published in full and available on request.
